Advance Auto has Valvoline VR1 on sale for 3.99 a quart (from 5.99) for you zinc lovers out there. It is not advertised, just cleaned out my local store of the 20/50 silver bottle.
Why? For a few bucks more get a MORE robust oil, AND synthetic, like Delo 5W-40 syn thats now at Walmart for $19.99/gallon, or T6 for $21.xx/gallon. Unless you're dead set against a synthetic. I'd also take Castrol Edge when it's on sale B1G1, the 0W-40 and the 5W-50 have a great additive pack.
Gonna head over tomorrow and grab some! Thanks, been running this oil for quite some time now, just did a change but its nice to stock up on it when its cheaper.

Why? Because the M20 doesn't need synthetic oil and VR1 is high zinc which the M20 DOES need.

dealo and all the other CJ-4 oils your referencing do not have the zinc content that the VR1 has with at least 200 PPM less in zinc content than anything you have mentioned. The only oil I can think of off the top of my head that has a slightly higher ZZDP content is Mobil 1 20/50 racing oil that is nearly always special order. Its hard to find an oil that is MORE robust that fucking VR1. I am a Mobil 1 syn whore but not the shit group III base stock (you know dino juice) you buy at walmart, I am talking about Delvac 1 (group 4 base) and I love VR1 for old school SOHC BMW engines. SOCH BMW engines dont like Synthetic oil anyway they run noticeably better on good conventional high zinc content lube they need the zinc for that matter.
Why dont you try leaning something about oils before spouting off
