My concern with a newer BMW (e39) is electrical crap going wrong. My brother had a 98 528i that was mechanically sound but had stupid electrical gremlins that were a pita to diagnose.09 BMW 328xi touring 6spd

If you are ok with 18-21 mpg get a 540i, expect to replace all 8 coil packs though, just go ahead and do them to save yourself the trouble or having to diagnose intermittent coil pack failure 8 times.I think they are 38 a piece on rock auto. Plan on getting nickel and dimed constantly too unless its very well kept.Originally posted by LJ851I programmed my oven to turn off when my pizza was done, should i start a build thread?

Did subaru for 3 years as dd:
1997 legacy wagon; cheap and even cheaper to maintain.
2001 impreza RS. SLOW but good handling and looking. Thats about all
5's are great dd's
E34 525i manual- great economical cruiser 23mpg avg combined city fwy
E39 540i -6mt; great quiet and fast. Thirsty on tires, maintence, fuel (17mpg Average)
Current dd:
E36m - its the most interesting to drive for sure. Most High consumption as well on everything; but I do track it almost as many days as the full race E30
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using TapatalkOBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30
Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine

-95 525it, stock, auto
-02 Imprezza Outback Sport (somehow I ended up with stock 05 STi suspension so that will be going on the OBS)
-08 Rabbit, 5spd, airbags (they're going if I get it), ecu flash, new clutch and Techtonics exhaust
I don't have a lot of time to fool around with a dd (another reason I'm selling the Landcruiser) and want something that is relatively get in and go. I know all cars need to be maintained but I don't want a project every damn week.

I had a solid 83 fj60 a few years ago as a DD. As cool as it was, that's not what I'm going for this round.
A friend of mine might be selling his 85 4-Runner, last year of solid axle, first year of EFI. If you're interested, let me know09 BMW 328xi touring 6spd
