Camry. Cant complain. Friend owned one till it died, but we took it everywhere. Surprisingly big inside and trunk space is huge. Mpg for days & looked pretty good lowered with is300 wheels. As long as you can get over driving a camry. -

I drove the e34 and it is quite smooth, shifts well and no shimmies. Current owner recently replaced control arm bushings etc.
VW on airbags screams "I'm cool and stanced! Look at me!" That is not my thing. I'm too old and grouchy for that shit anymore.
All I need to do is sell the Landcruiser and the e34 is mineLeave a comment:

They're all decent choices and all have their pitfalls.
E34=well built but old and if not maintained you're gonna have a bad time. Check the multitide of front end bushings or it's gonna shimmy more than blunts man stick behind the porta potty at Bimmerfest
Subaru=decently built car but weird kind of designs (compared to old BMW's anyway), non serviceable driveshafts (Not even the CSB) that like to go bad around that age, but AWD fun and pretty stout cars overall.
Rabbit= Newish car but still a VW, be ready to replace wheel speed sensors to keep ABS and TC working, 5 cyl. doesn't give the best gas milage but no worse than what your other options are. Sport mode on the autos are pretty fun and they have a decent ammount of low end grunt from the 2.5. Typical newer German car interior quality, which is still ahead of domestics and at least on par with Japanese cars of the same era. I'm no VW fan but my gf has one and it isn't a terrible choice.Leave a comment:

Oh Stanley youre so silly. Re-read it please. The VW is ON BAGS
We arent talking safety air bags. Suspension air bagsLeave a comment:

Is there something wrong with air bags now? or is it just for aesthetics?-95 525it, stock, auto buy it, get in and drive it. Leave it stock. You yourself said you dont want a project or have a lot of time for working on a DD.. So why buy the Subaru and swap all the suspension or the VW and remove bags etc etc. Keep it simple and dedicate your spare time to your e30
if the latter, then wouldnt' you have to remove them from the e34 as well?Leave a comment:

I had a solid 83 fj60 a few years ago as a DD. As cool as it was, that's not what I'm going for this round.
A friend of mine might be selling his 85 4-Runner, last year of solid axle, first year of EFI. If you're interested, let me knowLeave a comment:
