I'm not one for newer BMW's....but....

This car really excites me. It's like a badass, diesel and current version of my old 325es

Given the price of fuel and the want to have something that's not a gasser again, It's looking more and more sensible. I find it so intoxicating, the low RPM rumble of a high tq setup with tall gearing. The fuel savings is just a moot point
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I've always been a fan of diesel as a fuel-saving option, especially compared to hybrid technology. That said, I agree that a torquey, low-rpm setup is a pretty cool idea for a road car. High-rpm, high-hp motors are really best suited to tracks, but a low-rpm, high-torque motor could be fun everywhere. I've always thought some sort of diesel E30 swap would be pretty cool.

Great car, and I think it even has a dipstick. Too bad it's auto only. :(

I actually like the looks of the new F10 5 series, and it comes in diesel form, too. If I was rich guy who did lots of road trips for business or whatever, it's what I'd want...

Haven't driven the 335d... Had a 335i... When we got the X5, the gas was just way more fun to drive, as I'm sure the car is too... BUT, like you said, you enjoy the torque and mpg... I don't blame you for wanting the mpg's, lol, but I'm thinking you'll probably enjoy it with the control of stick best... Good luck!

I didn't think they existed in manual, so I'm a little skeptical.

I've had my eye on this car since it was introduced into the U.S. They're rare, but THIS is the late model 3er for me. I would take it over an M3 any day. Yep.....I said it.
