    Ebay shift boot lol

So I bought this for my dad for christmas (http://www.ebay.com/itm/230422855490) and I got myself one because if it works out they're really cool. So at the bottom the company that makes them puts a warning: "Please note that photos are shown for display purposes only. And what you will receive is only the leather part. Our items do not come with any surrounds, gear knob, handbrake leaver or armrest lids" so you can use your old surround that has the current leather and peel it off and glue on the new ones? or should I bother finding new surrounds orr?

I think that most people who sell those pieces, don't sell the plastic frames with the boots for that price.

If your current surround's clips are all good, then you just peel the leather off and these stretch over your old frame.

if your surround is fawked, some of the wicked cheap boots come with one, SOME of them. I bought like a $8 one that had a surround built in but the boot dissentigrated in 2 months.

Ive had a top gaiters boot in my car forever, Their really good quality

I have bought about 3-4 sets from that guy, and they have all lasted very well.

Just peel your old ones off and reuse your surrounds.

Sweet! I'm excited! I know both of our surrounds are in good condition. What kind of glue should I use or reattachment stuff should I use to do it? and is it really tedious?

          That was my suspicion.

Good I'm glad I bought from a company that has good feedback, at least E30 wise.

Make sure you ask who ever you are buying it from that they are using automotive grade material that is UV rated for sun exposure.

Or they will fade to all crap after a summer or two.

No need to glue, it gets wrapped around the surround and clips in and it stays in securely.

That is if it will wrap around or designed to be glued, but if so that would be helpful.

I use hobby grade super glue to glue mine on. A dot of glue every inch or so works well. Start in the center of each side and evenly glue it all the way around.

Others have used contact cement, but I find it is a bit messy and more work than super glue.
