E30 tool kit question

I think it is the handle for the spark plug wrench. You put it through the hole in the socket to turn it. -
That tool is used to line up wheels. You stick the plastic end into the wheel hub and then insert the wheel over it. Once you put in a lug bolt or two, you pull the tool out.

Maybe it comes with the socket? Order #12 and get both parts?
I would try eBay though. Lots of people selling tools on there. They came in multiple different cars as well, not just e30s.Comment

That's the only part I'm missing as well and I had come to the same conclusion. Seems like for some reason, that rod disappears more often than anything else.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Info, photos, videos, and more can be found at www.michaelsvintageracing.com!

Ahh...I found a German parts site and as far as I could figure, it was an extension for the screwdriver with a hex head on it. Makes sense - but what does it adjust?
Then I found a pic of the wheel pin tool slid into the spark plug wrench for a handle, so it must do both.Comment

ok, here goes. I believe it is used in the e28. the #1 space in the bottom left of the kit holds a tool in the e28 models that is used to manually operate the windows. in the e30 we just use the alan wrench and many e30's I've seen are void of the tool. I had an 88 e28 that the #1 tool fits into the door, then that long rod tool #10 is used to turn it. when turned, the tool locks into the door then the plug wrench is used to raise and lower the window. check and see if the plug wrench fits on part #1 in your diagram. the # below are different than in your diagram. 9 and 10 below.
