    What got you into E30 's ?

Ok , so sorry if this has been posted before....What was it about a E30 that made you want to own one ? For me was starting to work for the local BMW dealership in 1987.... Seeing a new 87 325IS , with a set of 15" BBS RS rims... that car was just it . Black on black, Bilstein suspension kit 15 " gold RS wheels.. perfection.. I started with 83 320i (sport package) then a 88 IS...
    it's just a ETA !

Bought a 91 318is off my brother, who worked as a mechanic for a BMW shop in St. Louis at the time, for $850 because I needed a car. It was absolutely the most fun car I've ever owned! Fell in love with that car, and when I got rid of it, I swore I'd own another one. Have an 86 325es and a 90 325i......still looking for another 318is though......

              My old Focus SVT.

I was looking for another VW MK1 Rabbit project, but just bought my SVT as a DD. I thought why build another FWD hatchback when I had a great DD. So I looked for a RWD German car and the E30 was the obvious choice.

Always liked the 3 series due to wanting a RWD compact with a 6 cylinder.

After owning 2 e21s, when looking for another one 4 years ago I couldn't find any left that didn't need total restoration, so enter the e30.

Mine's a two owner car from new & as it started life as a 320i auto it was in excellent condition and hadn't been thrashed - starting with a well maintained car made life much easier than my previous e21 resto jobs!

Have driven BMWs for almost 20 years now.

I started with an E28 535i - put more than 465K km on it and still looking / going strong when I sold it. I was hooked on the performance and reliability of BMW's. 535i replacement was an e30 Touring (and e30 318is for winter). Still have the touring, and just bought a e46 325xiT for the winter.

                      I miss that e28 ....

I also came from an SVT Focus. I have always loved E30's but I came across a few pictures online one day and it clicked. I sold my Cherokee I had at the time to a friend and 2 days later I had my E30.

Over the years i've grown into quite the inline 6 fan. I work for Cummins, own a 4.0 powered Jeep and felt it right that my DD have an inline 6 as well. I always loved the looks of the E30 so when my buddy waved one in my face, I bought it. Now if they only gave us a truck for working here......:D

My friend (and OG here) Julien had a 318is in high school that was fun as hell, and he absolutely flogged that thing. The car was actually in the GRM e30 comparison back in the day too. He later had an 88 325is and every night over the summer we would run on a mountain road course we had mapped out, one drove one way, the other drove back.

Now in turn I have the 88 325is that gets flogged by both of us, though more on track than on the street at this point.
