Pretty much r3v, e30tech and bimmerforums. I had $5Kish saved up when I was 14 and always had an interest in cars, so I started wondering what I should buy. I was never a die hard BMW fan, just a huge Ferrari fan but that was evidently outside of the price range. Asked on BimmerForums and people recommended the E36 or the E30, but I hated the E30 at the beginning. Over a couple of years I grew to love them and their simplicity. Bought one two days after I turned 16, before I even had my license.

I've always loved bmws specially e30s, but could not afford them in my younger days...when I was able to, I started with a e46 touring(still have) then e46m3(still have) and then my search for an e30 began..I finally picked up a '91 ix and then a '89 325I..the rest is history..

After driving my Chevy Corsica for three months my dad said I could finally go buy a more sporty car. Only had $700 to work with and the only two door manual cars I could find within somewhat of my price range was either a 87 325es(which had hella faded paint and cloth interior) or a 1984 GTi. I almost went with the GTi but it needed tires.

Turns out the e30 had grey/black houndstooth sport interior, which got all the e30 guys up in my business. I wish I could go back and guide myself to not part out that car... :/

everything about alkasquawlik's car got me into e30s at the time.
from hearing the gaudy idle outside my house to his brother taking us out to lunch in it while I was in high school; it just felt so german and right.
Hence, why I bought a schwarz (rip) the same year.

I drove a MKII Golf in high school and after I got a job waiting tables and actually had some money I was looking for a RWD, semi-reliable, light, fun to drive car for <$3k.

narrowed it down to the E30 and 944.. the 944s I saw were ratted and gutless, so went with an E30 and have driven one almost ever since (about 11 years)

I got into BMW's when a friend of mine got an e46 and then I later got an e36. I always wanted to "upgrade" to an e30 but never really had the opportunity as I was a poor high school and then college student. I had been admiring Pat's white e30 before I had ever met him for some time. Then one day driving home from school while away at college I got smashed by an 18 wheeler at a stop light.

Right around that same time Pat put it up for sale so he could get a 24v swapped e30 and I immediately took it off his hands. Now I really couldn't imagine owning anything else.

Always loved 80s boxy German cars. I've had several VW MKIIs, a few MKIIIs but decided I wanted RWD. Picked up a worked E36 M3, fell in love. Sold it before the motor let go, went through a few E34s and E39s and now I'm back to E30s. Just feels right although I'd be lying if I didn't prefer a full euro E28 M535 over all else, maybe some day.

An otherwise mint 86 325e with a broken timing belt fell in my lap for $100. Did a motor swap and I've been addicted ever since. I've owned several since then and I'm slowly converting all of my friends.

Since I was stuck in a Pontiac Grand Am for my car, I always fantastized about light, RWD manual cars. This led me to checking out e36s, and eventually e30s. At first I hated e30s... but after reading a lot of build threads I began to love the simple lines of the car.

e30 WILL be my next car, when it's time for an upgrade from my mustang.

My buddy had such a rad late model alpine 2 vert that we would cruise around in back in 06. It was the epitome of one of the best summers at my buddies lake house. Girls every day, donuts but night. I just had to have one.

Such excellent cars. Too bad every man woman and child wants one now.
