What got you into E30 's ?

Years of daily driving the wife's Corolla. I finally convinced her to sell it when I found a deal that couldn't be passed up on an E30 sedan.

I was looking for a cheap car to cruise around in and saw a 1987 325iC for sale. I probably paid a little too much but oh well.

My E46 got me into BMW's. After fully immersing myself in BMWs (reading BMW history, forums, ect ect ect), I found out about 2002's and E30's. Then I met a kid at school who owned an 325is (we're now good friends). He took my for a ride in his car, and I loved it. I slowly fell in love with E30's and set my mind on getting the perfect 318is. My E46 was a fun car, but it just felt heavy, and complicated. I ditched my E46 for a toyota pickup and a beater E30.

Right now Im in a full blown rebuild. Loving every minute of it. Hopefully I'll be done by the spring.

My dad bought a '89 325is to flip, but I just happen to start working on it here and there and fell in love. He ended up giving it to me a year later and I've let my creativity go wild.

The first car I ever owned was a 84' 318i. My dads friend gave it to me for free. Thing was completely rusted out. Unfortunately at the time I knew nothing about cars and had to get rid of it for a car in better shape. Sparked the passion though

My buddies and bro had VW that i HATED workin on. ive always liked foriegn cars. Didnt know jack about the e30 M3 but loved it.. Then add in that ive been told i look like Jason Stathom. So when i saw a 86 325e in black on black (think mini me Transporter).. i had no choice but to buy it....And then i fell in love w the piece of junk... then bought other cars and sold that e30... and then realized that civics are WAY to practical and normal and dependable and lame... And now im back in E30's w a passion...

well my step dad bought me an 84 when i was 15 for a project. at the time i was in auto body and was learning about things. when he brought it to the house i knew nothing of e30's, bmws or any older cars. to be honest i hated it and didnt want to be seen with it. lol. so it just sat there for years until he sold it. needless to say years later a friend talked me into bmw's and i found a 1987 325e, bought it. month later found a 91 325i alpine white sedan. i fell in love with how easy they are to work on. now im rolling in a 88 325is zinno, 24 valve and love every minute of it.

About 10 or so years ago, I had a crazy crush on this girl I knew that came into my work all the time. She drove a bronzit '88, and when she told me she was selling it, I didn't waste any time. The crush didn't last long, we were worlds apart, anyway. Besides, I had a girlfriend at the time. But that was how it happened. She taught me how to drive a manual, too.
