That sounds awesome, what phone do you use?

I think I will start with Android and it will really be something super simple (I'm not a mobile dev). basically a login screen and -> select vehicle -> enter fuel data.

Would love to see if you want to take it for a spin, just don't be too hard on it.

Do you mean like Facebook connect? I actually build that functionality but I rather not depend on a third-party service for anything.

Good call on weekly emails, since I'm not making any money off this I will have to figure out how much that will cost. But definitely a great idea.

any plans to make this more of a social media based program? (ie. integrated facebook, twitter, etc)

You should go check out mysubie.com for some idea if you plan to do that at all. as its pretty good but could be simplified, I rarely used mine when I had my subarus but it had great ideas behind it. maybe incorporate email notification from maintenr weekly if you don't update your odometer so you can get into the habit of it?

Long shot here and looking far down the road if this takes off (which it should as recorded maintenace is probably the most important thing to selling a car or keeping track of stuff you have done) maybe find a way to incorporate an import or a mobile app where you can take a picture of your odometer and it updates your mileage in the app/website?

They're currently listed in lbs from 1-30, usually ball peens are listed in oz, typically 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48 oz. maybe other sizes rarely.

All of those things make sense and I will add them to my to-do list, I'm not really sure what is the problem with the hammers (I honestly never used ball peen hammer so I might be missing something), care to clue me in? :(

If you want to build a mileage tracker, I'm all for it. I just didn't want to be pushing feature creep on you. For me, the mobile interface HAS to be fast and easy, though. I like Gas Cubby because entry takes seconds, even when I don't have a good signal.

But as long as there's a way to enter in historical data manually, the user can always keep using whatever mobile app they want to use and update Maintenr after-the-fact. :D

It WOULD be pretty cool to see a graph of mileage with maintenance events as data points on the timeline. Then you could see a correlation between repairs/modifications and the effects on fuel mileage.

Gotcha, I thought about it and decided to do a basic version because more than a few people were interested. Fuelly stats are nothing special from my perspective.

I'm going to add MPG tracker at vehicle level, with time, gallons, price, odometer.

While we don't have a mobile app yet, I will let you know once this is done and you can try doing it on your phone and tell me if it's a main PITA.

Google is having issues, the captcha we use is reCaptcha and hosted by them. I'm trying to figure out if there is a work around of some sort.

Yup agreed, but I'm wondering what does Gas Buddy do that's super fancy? I can build simple data sheet with base points and do some easy math to get your average MPG and do some sort of trend analysis (you filled up x times, you usually get x amount of fuel and spend x amount of in)?

I'm thinking even if I can't use that data to adjust estimates right NOW, I can use it later.
