Give your local courthouse a call or go there in person - believe it or not, suing people doesn't have to be expensive, it's the legal representation that's buku bucks, which you don't need as long as you've got your ducks in a row.

I'm no lawyer, but this sounds like a civil case to me... and if I'm right, filing a civil suit isn't too expensive. Maybe $20 or something?

Best case scenario: get all your evidence, paperwork, things lined up, ect and the judge awards you some money. Which Daddy can't dodge a court order. Because fuck those people.

Worst case scenario: you get nothing. Daddy on the other hand ponied up for a lawyer, because of course he did, and is out at least a few hundred bucks. He might try to counter sue for legal fees, but I doubt that would fly, not given the situation.

Welp, because I didn't submit models that weren't the exact year, model, and mileage as mine, they threw all my examples out. I asked them how many e30s they looked at to determine my apprasial. a whopping TWO e30s! And they were able to make an accurate appraisal. Oh yea, another thing I forgot to mention, my friend's parents are friends with someone who works at the insurance company, and apparently she told the parents I was "screaming and cussing out the emplpoyees" and "attempting to rip off the company" so now I'm not allowed at my friend's house anymore. Are they even allowed to discuss things like that. Seems like there should be some confidentiality or something.

None of that matters. USAA is a stand-up company that does not work off hearsay or favors. No claims adjuster gives a damn what some woman that may or may not know someone is upset about. That shit doesn't fly, trust.

Go open up a USAA policy guide and see what their take is on appraisal. My company will usually cover the tab for the first appraisal expense.

Reading this saddens me. Wait out the insurance company, if it's un drivable tell them to put your ass in a rental car, go to 3 reputable shops and get estimates, find more for sale ads present your case to the insurance company again, don't talk to them unless they are willing to sweeten the deal. Going to court won't help...
