It's the internet; no such thing as fair.

    You're welcome either way. Enjoy.

One thing that stood out for me was you saying "they had been adjusted by 5 different people" to no avail. One thing to remember is that the eccentrics are removable for a reason. they will wear out and become lower than tolerances needed to get a small enough gap (I use 0.008 exhaust and 0.009 on intake) The eccentrics are available from bav auto for ~$5 each, get 12.

      hope this helps!

Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

it certainly has been a chilly week.. for everyone aside from florida..

I am in the same boat as you with the Mrs' 325, super loud ticking, but the eccentrics are worn down enough that they will go to about 0.0011 at most and then upon warming up, get to about 0.0014 and chatter away again :???:

          parts ordered.

Does your fuel gauge work? If not, its a simple fix. Pull the cluster and adjust the grounding nut/washer on the back of the gauge. If the solder looks worn, a quick soldering job will bring it back to life.

I used this DIY for the gauge work: http://www.exx.se/maintenance/fuel_t...30/index.shtml

Any dash removal guide will have steps for removing the cluster. Pretty easy, I did it in about 20 minutes.

Nah I'm just a broke ass :nice:

I would love to come to cars and coffee! When and where?

I'll have pics for under the valve cover later on. Turns out my cam has a very sharp lip on the #6 cam lobe. I'm assuming this is the culprit. The eccentrics seem worn down as well.

Parts on the way! As for the cam I'm going to check out my options first.

Here's a few pics. Came across a destroyed pcv hose as well. On the third pic it's hard to see but there is a horrible lip on the intake lobe.
