          Looks like a cheap ass repo cobra, probably wanted a ~200hp motor on the cheap and it fit the bill.

              This. It's in Europe, so that's a "dirty" M30B34. Also US V8s aren't as common over there.

                It's an M30 powered AC Ace (or rep). The only thing that makes an AC Cobra a Cobra is the big ol' Ford power-plant.

                In fact, putting a BMW six in there is closer to an original Ace that was powered by the Bristol-6 which was based on a pre-WWII BMW engine.

                  Well, that and the different body and frame, etc.

                  Not much left of an ace on a cobra. That picture clearly shows a 427 cobra kit car with it's huge swollen fenders.
