        True, though a good rule of thumb for private party sales is the average of clean retail and clean trade.

            Sorry if I sound a bit harsh, it just really grinds my gears when people think the National Automotive DEALER Association pricing, applies to them.

            Sometimes a private sale value can greatly exceed Blue and Black book value, I'm not denying this. MOST of the time though, it's considerably less.
            Relax, I offered the NADA advise because KBB only values cars back to 1994. $3,650-$7,625 that NADA suggests is pretty accurate to what I think his car is worth anyway. I personally wouldn't pay that much for it but eventually someone probably will.
