Do I need a Press for this?

So i need to change the Center support bearing on m '91 318is /2/5, I've changed it before on my E36's. According to this Pelican article http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tech...ft_Bearing.htm, it's the same process. But my cousin (E30 owner) said he needed to use a Press to change his. Is this true?

I don't have a press at home so I need to be sure as I don't have much time off to work on EJodi. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated and awarded with an e-beer!:???:

Yeah if you buy the beating as a complete unit attached to the mount you won't need a press for anything. Thought it might be a huge PITA to knock off (sometimes they get really stuck).

In almost all cases, a failure of the center support bearing will be caused by binding u-joints in the drive shaft. Replacing the CSB may result in temporary relief, but the new part will soon fail. The only long term fix is to replace both the CSB and the drive shaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

            Good to know!
I'll be swapping the CSB for now while I keep an eye out for another driveshaft. I've read a bit on CF driveshafts, would that be a good route to go? if not, please school me on that a bit

Why would you need a CF driveshaft?

Never said I "Needed" one, which is why i'm asking for input. Just a thought is all. I wouldn't wanna buy another used driveshaft and have the same issue later. Plus, it's cool to say "Yeah she has a CF DriveShaft" lol. She's just gunna be a DD and not a track car so I know I don't need one, just a silly idea.

The good choice for this is a a reman drive shaft (I like those from Drive Line Services), which will come with a new CSB installed.
