IMHO, you can google for most any repair - and will be 99% covered.
Things you want to watch out for is torque values. Things like calipers, and head bolts. And any bolt that screws into aluminum - that includes ALL the drain plugs, anything that attaches to the head, oh, and spark plugs. But if you can't spring $40 for a manual, chances are you can't afford a decent TQ wrench, or know enough to do it by hand (heck, even I am surprised at what 10 Nm vs 100Nm feels like sometimes)
Best advice, is find a friend that knows a bit more than you. A case of beer and a dinner will usually make up for a few hours of help. But that costs more then $40. So, I'm totally unhelpful aren't I?
