No one but southerners live with ice like this. Most areas pre plan and are cold enough that snow dusts the roads. It doesn't hit a warm road, then freeze later on.

I tried taking my E30 out the first time it snowed this year. Shitty all seasons, 4" of snow. I barely got it out of my driveway (and actually got stuck, too), didn't even try going on the road. I can't imagine trying to drive on solid ice. I'm kinda surprised you made it as far as you did lol.

Driving in snow with proper snow tires is awesome. Driving in ice is never fun no matter what.

Atleast your neighborhood has nice smooth curbs to run into, haha

Yes, about 0.5-1" of solid ice in some places. I had to get out and practice some. I have to drive to work tomorrow morning. Fire/EMS stops for nothing. The guys at work today are posting videos of even the firetrucks getting stuck out there.

Up here in Maine, we had a HELL of an ice storm about a month ago. It was after driving home that night that I got serious about getting studded tires and driving the E28 instead. I couldn't go any faster then about 15mph the whole drive home, and I still spun out twice on turns. I had bald rear tires. It was an absolute nightmare. Good thing there are no hills in my commute and it's only a couple miles.

LOL, as a side note - My ex totalled her car that night, too. Karma's a bitch. I always hated that fucking Hyundai, anyways. (she was okay)
