I heard your feedback (thanks) and I spend last week building this after work:

    THANK YOU.

P.S I'm letting the old thread die, it got a bit too big for it's own good.

Nice! I like the layout of the site, it's pretty easy to read.
Although it takes a while to find certain things, I believe it could be made a bit more intuitive.

For example I replaced the serpentine belt on the Jeep on Saturday with the ODO at 34049.
For me to record this on Maintenr, I had to add a service (aux belt replacement), then a dummy fuel up where the amount of fuel and the price of fuel were mandatory inputs just so I could add my mileage to that day.

I might have missed it, but I think there's no place to put your mileage for a service. That would be a good addition.

Thanks for making this site tho, it looks like it will become very useful for a lot of people!

I added my last oil change as well, it was at 31400 miles, which did not do much good without the date. My oil change file was saved on the 10th of October, so I think it's a good estimation that that is the date the service was done. In the end, when I added another dummy fuel up for that date, it seems like the program handled it well, because it shows the next oil change to be much earlier than the 12-month interval I set it to (because I'll reach the 8000 mile interval sooner).

My point is, it would really help if you could add the mileage to the service performed. I never even cared about dates, everything I ever did was based on mileage.

        There's a bug I just noticed:
You can add a part to a service without a manufacturer part number, but when you want to edit that part, you can't save the changes without entering a part number.

sweet! I like the progress that you've been making. A mobile app would make updating the mileage tracker a breeze, any plans for one?

Nice! Perhaps I should fix my odometer gears finally so I can track this. Haha.

Hey, we actually have that option. It's a little confusing but hopefully it iwll make sense:

                  1. Service schedule is a simple tool to allow you to setup alerts when service is due.

                  2. Service jobs is log of actual jobs you performed, we certainly take odometer data in that form (for your own reference);.

                  3. When service schedule is on the day it has to alert you it will actually A) create a new job for that service B) send you an alert and link you to created job where you can enter date/odometer/comments.

Hopefully that explains how it should function.

Thanks mang, I have something but it's very basic.

In your opinion would you be happy with a simple application (for now) that has vehicle drop down (from ones you added) and has odometer/price/gallons/comment fields.

As in, you can add stuff but to edit/manage you have to login to the web site.

Obviously, only for now until I can develop something better :(

                    P.S What phone?

If you read the first post, you no longer have to request invitation since I created a special link for r3vlimited:

I'd like to see a distinction made between scheduled maintenance and a "to do list" of projects or preventative maintenance. Right now it feels like a chore to add and edit one-time projects. Here's how it seems to go:

Dashboard > Vehicle > Manage Service > Add Service > "Spot Rust Repair" (for example) > "We could not find this type of service in our database."

I'd also like to see a list of scheduled maintenance and a "to do list" when you get to the Car's page. Right now it's basically empty and devoid of information, with nothing but two buttons to manage maintenance and fuel. I feel like the Vehicle page should be a more in depth and car-specific version of the Dashboard.

It seems like you're angling towards having the ability to share tutorials, so I think it'll be important to have an ability to share build manifests for different projects, and have those projects be searchable under a car type.
