I flew to Dallas to get my car. Had a nice conversation with the owner on the phone & he took it to a local Euro shop to have a PPI done per my request. He picked me up from the airport, got the paperwork done and I drove the 1100 odd miles back to Cleveland without any surprises.

That was almost 6 years ago. Good times.

In the meantime I need to sell my current Subaru and get all of that figured out. I', going to try to just go for 1500 cash for the BMW. The airbag kit labor will cost a pretty penny so I don't want to spend too much on the car initially. :)
Look up #becausebags, they have a bolt on e30 air kit. No 'bag labor' needed.

I will check that out, thanks! I heard the labor kills with E30s, hopefully this can save me something.

They definitely care. That's driving an unregistered vehicle. They can and will give you a ticket and tow the car. Most cops around here wouldn't let that slide.

That being said, i'd rode home dirty on every car i've bought. 4, 5, 6, 7 hour drives. Just throw an illegitimate plate on it and don't drive like an ass. (using the wrong plate is also illegal. That's "misuse of plates", and they will ticket you, tow the car, and confiscate the plate).
