    Need some help

Hello, im new to the forums, though i been lurking for awhile.

I recently purchased a 1984 BMW 325, (im new to E30's, but when i was stationed in germany with the army i had an E36 but thats another story)
it was $1500, a lil more than i wanted to pay for it but in Puerto Rico there is not a wide range of decent looking e30's too choose from or atleast for sale ones.

I was hoping that you guys could tell me if its a 325i or a regular one. In the pictures the paint is really good and no rust it just very dirty. The previous owner put alot of M and m3 signs and some other stuff at random.

I can see it has disc brakes in the back and the rear lid spoiler. I think i also see a 3 spoke steering wheel. I understand that is in included on the "I" package.

I am hoping it is myself as i have plans for this car and cant wait to restore it and give it the love it deserves.

    Here are the pictures:

oh man. haha not sure if m3, 325c, or 325e!!! haha that is a 325e man, meaning the 'economy' edition. better gas mileage. looks a little abused, but nothing can't be undone.

Makes sense it is an 325e. So the disc brakes are standard on those in that year? A little lost on this early years E30s as i cant seem to find alot of information on those.

I pick up the car on monday. I think the first thing im gonna do is get rid of all those M3 emblems and the front license plate.

I also understand the suspension is a little different from the newer e30's? I think that is how i am gonna start with this car (After i do all the maintenance of course)

And what kind of rims are those are they even original BMW rims?

        Thanks again for the help

The car is a 325e for sure. The 325i wasn't even released until 1986 (1987 in the US).

The suspension on this car is more or less the same as all 6 cylinder E30's.

Wheels are definitely NOT original BMW.

If you give me the last 7 of your VIN I can look up the details (packages, etc) on BMW's network.

The only way to tell for sure is to check the engine block, but I doubt anyone who put that much plastic crap on it would choose to put an "e" on the trunk of an "i" car. That could be a really clean car though. Take off all the plastic, put in some normal headlights, and maybe swap an 885 head (325i) onto the car. Its could be a lot of fun for only $1500!

Thank you all for the information

I do agree that it can be a really clean car. And gordo when i get the car on monday ill def give you the VIN number.

As far as the head swap i agree but that would be down the road a little bit after i make it look nice a bit.
