Looking for a thread - Glass Polishing

I'm looking for a thread and can't seem to find it. The OP made a DIY on polishing headlights using polishing disks from I think 3M. Can't seem to find the thread anywhere. Anyone know of it?

I haven't seen that thread but follow Larry Kossila of Ammo NYC quite religiously. He had a //Drive episode for cleaning glass windshield. You may be able to adapt this to headlights.

Check out the glass video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVUtdlzrktI

That kind of polishing is only intended to clean the glass, not remove pits and scratches.

      Thanks though.

Fair point. You may want to email him or message him through the AMMO Facebook page. I've asked him a ton of questions (including best way to spot clean my convertible top) and he's always been helpful and responsive. May be worth a try.

        Good luck!

While helpful, that was not the thread I was looking for. The one I'm looking for he used sanding discs, not a polishing compound.

Start with say 600 or 800 grit wet sandpaper, work your way up to say 1500-2000, grab a buffing wheel (foam disc on a drill works in a pinch) use 3m perfect it, finesse it. It will look brand new.

IF your doing this on plastic beware that you will not have any UV protection so the shinyness will only last +- 6 months and you will have to redo it.

The only way you can 'scew up' is to start with to harsh a sandpaper then you wont be able to get the scratches out.
