Well so far I have gotten down to the block and done some cleaning but I came in for the day. First off, being used to my e46 this this is crazy easy to work on, things are self explanatory and easy to get to. I have shed a ton of weight from the car already just by scrapping the the trunk, rear interior, and AC unit. which leads me to a question. Is it vital to run the electric fan off the ac cooler if the cooler is removed? I am amazed at how strong these engines are. all the broken timing belt did was bend 3 valves and break one rocker arm. I am going to throw on the new head I got from a forum member tomorrow and if all goes smooth may have it running by the end of the day.

I have decided to stay NA on the motor and my plan is to buy an eta block I can clean up and then build my head up that I just took off and put it on that block. I am not sure what I am going to go get CR back up yet but a buddy had a good idea, is it possible to machine deeper valve reliefs in the eta pistons that would allow you to run 135mm rods to keep a good compression. ideally I would like 10:1 CR to run a big cam but I understand that means custom pistons.

First things first though once the car is running is to sort suspension and then fix a spot of rust and do fender flares, then respray.
