I'm all for buying oem accessories with our cars, but the husco is one thing I can't justify dropping $100+ on.
      Instead I bought this.
Works great and is 1/14th of the price!

And it doesn't look half bad eh?

I only like OEM items on e30s, interior wise, I have a Husco but idk if it'd be a nuisance while driving a standard trans.

Never used a Husco, but I have had one of these cup holders and they work great. A little pricey at ~$12, but they really do work well. Will hold everything from a small Red Bull can up to a big Nalgene water bottle.

I did modify mine a bit. The part that slides back and forth comes a bit loose and sloppy. I just took it apart and heated up the tabs that turn under and bent them in a bit tighter. If you take one apart and see, my description makes more sense.

interesting, mine have yet to come loose; but I'll certainly put this to the test when the time comes.
How did you adhere the whole thing to the center console?
I'm hesitant to drill into the center console, so I just used some of the adhesive it came with; but it's pretty flimsy if I put something too heavy on it lol

It wasn't that it ever came loose, it was the fact that the part that slides had a lot of play in it. I just tightened the gaps up so there was less play.

It was in my Jetta, so I had it screwed to the floor.

I got lucky and found a mint one on CL being sold by an older gentleman that let it go for a whopping $65. I love it when going on long drives, but can get in the way when your in sport mode shifting.

OEM dealer option arm rest/cup holder Pretty rare I guess.

I say HUSCO. I'd love to have one, gotta pay to play.

Not a fan. They get in the way of shifting in my opinion.

Dont some have a cupholder and some not? I think the main purpose is as an arm rest and secondarily as an cup holder. I imagine the shifter height would also be relevant as to how functional it would be.

In my opinion, the cup holder sucks. It's a flimsy piece of crap. However, the arm rest is worth 3x the value once you have one and use it. Seriously, is 150 bucks really a big deal compared to the price of the car? Especially considering the value of the extra comfort you receive from it.

As far as being in the way, I guess it's a matter of preference. It's certainly not in my way. I am 6' tall with a 6' 5" wing span.

Besides, when you sell your car, you can always remove it and get your money back.

So, in my opinion: husco? Hell fucking goddamn yes!!!!!!!!!!
