No offense but that isn't much for any car. You should always have budgets for everything in your life. Get a plan on what you want for the car. Price it all out(Shipped!) And then add %20 for crap that falls apart in your hands while working on the car. With that being said I am constantly on forum classifieds watching for deals on stuff I want.

Something else go consider, can you do the work yourself? Many people will buy mufflers and piping for exhaust and then forget that the shop is going to charge $100-$200 to fab it.

How's that shifter? Nice and sloppy? Maybe do a Z3 2.8 shift lever and some new shift bushings.

I have a Z4 3.0 lever for sale if interested as well, some people say it's too low/notchy though.

When's the last time you flushed your coolant, bled your brakes, changed your transmission or differential fluid?

There's always maintenance :)
