    Timing belt squeal

Hey guys I recently swapped a m20b25 in my 325es it starts and runs but my timing belt squeals so I out a new OEM one in and it's still squealing.. I can't figure out why it would do this..

Sure it's no the alternator belt?

When you replaced the timing belt did you replace the timing belt tensioner?

AutohausAZ sells two but I know people prefer SKF over URO.

Also ^ double check this, and any of your accessory belts. I thought my timing belt might be making noise in the past but after tightening a barely loose alternator belt I haven't had any squealing.

that ^ but the problem is obviously not the belt, you have a seized or sticky pulley from a motor that has been sitting for how long before you swapped it in?

i have no idea what i am doing with my life

Pull all accessory belts off then start your car up. If the noise is still present it's probably the tensioner pulley. If it's gone, add belts one at a time, then start up to find out which bearing is the culprit.

Ill go out on a limb here and say that timing belts, having teeth, do not squeal.

It is the timing belt I took every belt off besides it and it still squealed. Also I had a new timing belt on it that wasn't OEM and squealed and was getting torn up. Got an OEM one and still the same things happening I'm positive it has to be some sort of pulley but idk what I put a brand new tensioner on too

It's rubbing on the timing cover?
