    What's it worth? Vol. 318

After searching and looking I couldn't find a place to put this. I'm not totally interested in selling but have had some nice offers and I would like some opinions on were my 318is stands as far as value. *if this is in the wrong section please advise

1991 318is 3rd owner Non Smoker Slick top Fogs Air Bag
160K (odometer broke about 2k miles ago)

Mechanically... I drove the car 3 hours to Mid Ohio and did a 2 day track event so needless to say its in proper mechanical shape. New radiator, clutch, and I replaces all the plugs and filters and did flush on everything but the diff.

Exterior....recently repainted. Small rust was patched. Maybe 2 or 3 small dings but no major flaws.

Interior...factory radio is gone, small tear in drivers bolster patched, and coke spilled in floor or passenger carpet, otherwise flawless.

Mods...H&R race springs, Hawk HP+ and Brembo blanks...I have new door sills, water pump, timing chain, and extra set of C1 lightweight 15x8's wrapped with Toyo R888's that go with the car.

Beautiful car, a nice steam clean would bring that coke stain right out of the carpet.

Tough to pinpoint a value, as I have seen similar cars go for anywhere from 5k up to 8k

Thanks. I turned down almost that yesterday. I'm not sure how rare this one is, but wasn't the slicktop with fogs and airbag the rarest of the IS in '91? Maybe there was another option, the info center or something?

I am thinking in the $6k range depending on quality of paintwork and all matching vin#s. Also if it is an lsd that helps, its about the only option available left on your car.

Agreed on the carpet cleaning its a must.

Fairly sure by 91 airbags were standard and fogs came with the is option.

7-7.5 if you left the factory paint.
Factory paint was in rough shape. It was almost pink. The spoiler was all cracked.... :/

Like others have said, probably start the price at 6k. It's clean looking and sounds like you have kept it decent.

                    But,

Fix the odometer gears. It's under $20 for parts and less than an hour of your time. By not fixing them you're potentially sending a message to the next owner about your maintenance habits.

Good deal! I was afraid to replace the unit altogether but a quick fix is just what I needed. Where can I get those gears?

                      Thanks!

I do have the VDO cluster.

Every iS was a 2 door with airbags, I wanna say fogs were standard on all late models stateside, but I could be wrong on that, I haven't seen one without them that didn't have them removed. Looks like a pretty standard 318iS, but that in itself is relatively uncommon.

Good deal. I thought I read an article somewhere that stated there were only 2 or 3 options for the slick tops and there were the most rare. Regardless a good condition E30 is rare in itself. :)
