Stranded!

I'm traveling from Jacksonville Fl to West Jefferson, NC. I'm about halfway in between on highway 26 in SC when my engine cuts out suddenly. Lost all throttle. I pull over and try to start it, it spins because i see the fan spinning. But it just whirs. Ideas? I'm about 4 hrs from my home and destination. I have some tools, limited. No spark plug socket...

When its cranking does it sound different than before, like spinning faster? Could be the timing belt.

well I wanted to make sure of that so I figured I would go ahead and take my valve cover off to see if the valvetrain spins when I tried to start the motor.... look what I just found

snapped timing belt. you arent going anywhere on that engine.

Sure enough.... That belt was put in 25k miles ago on 2/26/12

my concern now is getting it home because even if someone were to leave in like an hour from now to come get me it would be 4 hours before they can get here. then I don't know how I would even get home
