E30 locks trigger 2 ways, one will trigger when you partially move the key to the lock position locking the doors normally. If you go a full 90* then remove the key, the door is double locked, the plunger is physically locked and you cannot lift it up by hand.

ahhhh gotcha. thank you for explaining. i was actually curious why my key would turn 45 degrees and kinda stop, but still go the full 90 if i kept turning. i just barely got my locks working at all so i haven't played with them enough to figure that stuff out

No problem. Lube up your locks good, they tend to get very hard with age and things start breaking Lol.

Once a window is up, pop out the lock tumbler.

(You could also trigger the lock solenoids by tapping into a harness somewhere, but the window is probable easier and quicker to figure out on the diagram.)
^This. Why would anyone recommend to cut anything? OP's windows are rolled down so the OP can get the door cards off. Am I missing something or is there something special about the vert?

You can also roll up your window with an allen wrench. 4mm I believe? It's under a plastic cover on the window motor.

But it'd be easier to trigger the power lock system, look up an aftermarket keyless entry system install manual to see which wires to hook up to a battery. (never done it, sounds good in theory tho)

                          Seriously?

Battery + some intelligence = rolling up window.

I guess you didn't bother reading anything else?

If the door is double locked rolling up the window isn't the issue. It's getting the door panel off with the door closed.

I don't think the OP ever said it was double locked. He said the title was locked in the trunk, and he couldn't get to the tumbler in he door because of the glass. I assumed he already had the door card off and tried to get to the tumbler, and found he wasn't able to do so. Unless we get more info from the OP, powering the window motor to get to the tumbler sounds like the path of least resistance. Regardless, a door card is probably the most acceptable loss if damaging something is required.

Alternatively, if it is double locked, and he can't get the doors open, he could smash through a tail light to get the title in the trunk, and order a new key. Tail lights are easier to match than a trunk lid or door card.

Reason why I figured he was double locked, if he wasn't, pulling up the door lock would also unlock the trunk.

                                Def need more info here.
