What would you recommend for friend purchasing a car?

I have a friend who is looking to purchase his first car and get rid of his mothers soccer mom Hyundai Santa Fe. He is looking for a practical yet sporty car, 6 cylinders (and up maybe), relatively fuel efficient, inexpensive and mod-friendly. He is interested in the 2008 Honda Accord coupe V6, but after reading some threads about how the V6 has oil consumption issues and misfiring due to it's eco mode, he is uncertain that is a good car to go with. Any suggestions for a relatively new, 5 or 6-speed manual, 6 cylinder car that is not too expensive? 25k or less.

I have already suggested e30, he is a fag.

They don't really get great gas milage.

          From edmunds:

          2013 WRX: 19/25 mpg
          2004 WRX: 17/23 mpg

Does it have to be a 6 cylinder? Civic Si or Ford Focus ST is what comes to mind when I think fuel efficient, inexpensive, mod friendly and reliable. They will outrun a lot of 6 cylinders.

There are a lot of other options that aren't inexpensive or terribly reliable.

            +1

I've owned 2 of them and both did 20MPG, consistently, no matter how they were driven. Stage II setups added, and still 20MPG.
