        Steve, I don't know who told you BC doesn't use salt.. they salt the SHIT out of everything at the slightest hint of freezing temps. I hate driving my car up there! most people with nice older cars have another $500 beater they drive in the winter so they don't ruin them. if you're wondering where all the old classic cars you used to see everywhere went to, they're in Canada..

        in WA they are using a lot of de-icer and while it's still corrosive it's not as bad as salt. also we don't really have much snow this year anyway so there's nothing to worry about, it got washed away by the 12"+ of rain we've had long ago..
