Why not just remove the hopefully useless vibration dampner?

The people I bought my 325is from had a cheap-ass muffler installed before they sold it to me. It has a ridiculous little honda ricer civic tip coming out of it. That shit has to go QUICK! So I have been trying to read up and figure out what to go with. Single pipe from cat, double, what is a cat-back vs whatever else. You guys have to forgive me but just give me your insight, what do I go with. Is a cat-back system the thing to go with?

www.vertexauto.com for a fairly cheap OEM replacement Ansa catback. Good unless you live in the rustbelt.

That is what used to be on Scott's car when it was a summer only vehicle in KY. When the one on my beast goes (which I am guessing will be sometime later this year - its currently rust held together by holes) I am going to get another one of those.

I paid like 140 shipped - they are more now, but still at or under 200 shipped.

Ok, I'm assuming cat-back simply means from the catalytic conv back, correct? Does this ANSA replacement come with double pipes from the cat back or at least from the muffler back, double tips? Thanks

                      duh ;)

It was one of those "if you extract this bolt I'll pay you to bolt up this cat back" sort of deal - besides, I didn't have the gaskets, and I hate leaks in the exhaust...

Fits exactly like the original - double pipes from the cat back and double tips out the back.

Ive had some pretty good experience with Ansas and they actually sound pretty sweet on an m20. Mine lasted two years in New England as well and hadnt started to rust when I sold the car.

There are no gaskets for the cat back.

Actually, there are - look at the picture where the cat attaches to the cat-back.

Those are the flanges and the donut that goes on one side of the pipe.
