Delete if a repost, Not a bad read on the E30.

I've never seen it before - pretty cool.

A few number typos, though. Holy crap! 24-valve 4-cyl. Those lucky Aussie's with their 6 valve/cyl engines.

The pick of the E30 bunch, if you can live with a manual gearbox and two doors, is the sporty 318is built in 1990-91.
Did the aussies not get the 6cylinders or something?

Yeah, as far as I know they got every petrol motor 1.8-2.7L that Germans had (don't know about diesels, or the tiny M10 and M40s). 325i's, the early 323i's that we never got, and I presume 2.0L M20-powered 320i's, but I'm not positive.

The 3-Series is a sporty car so look for signs it has been modified or thrashed by youthful or inexperienced drivers. Look for non-genuine parts such as sports exhausts, lowered and stiffened suspension and larger wheels.
          :D

          My car check list:

          exhaust - check
          lowered - check
          stiffened suspension - check
          larger wheels - check

          lol

They never even mention any of the 2.5l cars. Apparently the only BMWs worth mentioning were 4cylinders ;\

Yeah, remember kids, we don't use US Dollars. We've got our own currency down here (shock!) ;)

We got Euro-spec cars, all the way from 318i, 318iS, 320i, 323i, 325e, 325i, 325iS... no M3 though (RHD country). That article was written for the lowest common denomenator... people who have no clue about cars and think a "Sports" badge on their Toyota means it's a suburban Ferrari.

That was a very moronic article. Horrid grammer. I thought i was reading a another R3V post ;)

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

That was the most useless E30 "buyer's guide" I've ever encountered.

Oh yeah, 'cause America is the be-all and end-all for witnessing the proper useage of the Queen's English.

I know the journo who wrote that artical. He's a good friend of mine and its sad that so many people will get such a poor reflection of his true talent from reading that speil that has been butchered and altered by Sub-Editors after he wrote it.
