    WTB: Mercedes Cosworth Parts

    Hey R3v,

I just picked up an 87 Mercedes Cosworth 2.3-16v. I have always thought that they were neat cars.

I didn't know where to post this, hope the general section is ok.

With that being said, I'm looking for some of the injection system parts, and other misc parts. If you have any leads, or have Cosworth parts, please let me know. I have Paypal ready. Located in Portland OR and will gladly pay for shipping.

    Thank you.

They are neat, and I just missed out on one.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but I would be very tempted to take out the 2.3-16 engine/accys and put in a 3.0 or similar with a manual from Europe unless it is a very nice example. That way you can have more power, cheaper parts, and maybe a bit of money left in the bank after all is said and done. Yes, you lose what makes that car unique, but it's a sound plan.

As to parts you're going to have to try the dealership, MBpartsworld or ebay.

I had to have all the timing chain gears/guides replaced along with a whole slew of other stuff when I got my cossie. It was a minor miracle the car was actually running once we got it opened up. The oil pan was full of chain guide bits and shaved metal from the gears. What a mess lol.

I used that website mostly as well as scouring ebay (uk, de, us) for a couple months. Some of the gears were NLA which complicated things. 190rev.net is a good resource to find stuff/infos too.

post on 190rev. The biggest downfall is the injection system, convert it to EFI and you will be near 200bhp and the fun begins. Those cosworth heads flow like crazy. Is it a NA model or Euro?
