OP, I'm from Sask. We on the prairies used to always say to avoid east coast cars for this reason.
Honestly, if you want some great help, I'd be willing to check out a few e30's for you over here in Vancouver as we have PLENTY of nice cars that are not nearly as bad as this. You could make it a journey across Canada to bring it home!
Once you do find a car you like, I have a great mechanic who works on my e30. He charges me a pittance compared to what other import shops charge. For example, I had my HG needing replacement and after purchasing the parts from Blunt, I took them everything. He not only did the HG job, but replaced several parts (motor mounts etc), cleaned up the engine bay, and upgraded my shifter for a mere $700. All in, for about $1200 I got my e30 running awesome!!
I've been around e30's for the past 13 years. I know how bad these cars can be when even lightly neglected. I'm sure there's other rusty places on your current car that you haven't found yet.
Just a suggestion. Trust me, once you have a solid body, the rest is easyIf it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Not worth patching unless you have a MIG yourself and know how to use it properly yourself. And you MUST have a lot of spare time and will to work on this scrap. Otherwise it will be an endless project that will get abandoned eventually. There are better cars for less than you will spend on this. Moreover they will be available for your enjoyment quicker.Last edited by raudonis; 05-13-2014, 01:02 PM.My transaction feedback on r3vlimited :):Clickety click
