Drifting isn't a sport, it's an exhibition. Like figure skating. It's awards are by style. I can respect that. But still....

Maybe you should post Nigel's blog/videos. " first person to build a vehicle from scratch specifically designed"...lol, spend some time in the pits at any track...every car there is specifically designed!" My 2 cents....Sorry for If I sound like an ass IronFreak...I just don't get the attraction to "drifting"

I'll give you this, fair enough.........Skill is involved though just like figure skating. It would be apparent if I went out on the track against him who the winner would be.

I'm not discounting other people saying that they don't build their own cars. I'm building mine, But I can't say I'm building it from scratch. I started with a platform, Nigel started with a lot of straight pipe. If you go out and buy a e30, or 240 it was not built or designed to race or drift, we have to modify and change it to handle that stress. His truck from the start was designed around the dynamics of drifting.
I don't want it to seem like I'm discounting others work, but I love to fabricate and create new things and I think what this guy did and does is outstanding. Especially for a one man show.

Nice update. Thanks for the links. I watched most all the vids.(well skipped through)

Yep, that's fabrication. And that's how you do a tube frame under the skin of a car. I think it's awesome it's an inspiration for you to go do your own thing. ;) wink wink!

I think what he means is he's the first to do it himself, no team of builders, no pack of engineers etc. etc.

Having followed Nigel's build for a couple years now, it's an amazing machine. He did the whole chassis in a tiny 1 car garage before getting that nice garage, which is amazing. Before building the truck, he also was a sponsored drifter and everything, but decided to not compete last year in order to finish the truck. Amazing craftsmanship and dedication to build that whole setup from the ground up.

@40:26 I spotted an e30. Video was worth the watch just for that.

Awesome story. I liked it even more when he back it out of the trailer to ship it and had a BMX bike in the "bed" of it.
