I still do not believe in the slightest, even for a split second that Mike burned down his own garage, BBS wheels and his favorite car ever.

I am a HUGE fan of rusted and weathered patina cars, I grew up attending hot rod shows with my dad. It is a love it or hate it thing, I personally dislike shiny paint and chrome. It is dumb rusted/patina cars are all reverted to Mike and Slammington, he never started it nor made it mainstream, it has been done well before any of us on here were around and owning cars.
One day I will go back to the family roots and build a nice old truck rat.

BIG difference between rat rods and modern day rust. Rat rods are where someone took a non-running rusty car or shell and turned it into a hot rod. Modern rust is where someone takes a perfectly good car and rusts it to make it look that way. Completely different animals.
I like most rat rods, a lot of them have some cool ideas put into them, but modern rusty is so played out and more often than not badly done, that I can't stand it.
5toes got banned for rusting his hood. Just saying...

Yeah, I heard the story about 5toes lol. Define modern day rust. If you are referring to modern cars then yeah, it's retarded, I'm though talking about 60s-80s cars that are in crappy condition, just keep that old, beat up look with rust, faded paint and etc... But as has been said, it's either you love it or hate it. Hehe

Rusting a car is like spilling ketchup on your jeans, and letting it sit there until the stain looks cool. It never looks cool.
As an enthusiast that doesn't ruin my cars with my mods, I'm always taken aback by the lengths people go to to be "different".-Nick
