I slammed my driver door and the b pillar portion of the door became misaligned and i started to hear the noise of outside air.

With a little elbow grease and my suave asian persuasion I got it nice and dandy.

Details: Jock's car has a sloppy 5-speed with worn out shifter bushings. He was about 18 inches from the car on a hill and thought he was in Reverse; he was in 1st. But the owner seemed to be cool about it.
    I was there.

    I remember.

What the hell are you guys talking about? lol
You should def not have to be slamming your doors for them to close opie.
The raw (read: almost metal to metal) sound that some of you are experiencing come from shrunken, flattened seals as someone had mentioned.
Replace those and the doors will feel padded and make a comforting/reassuring/solid thunk when you close em.

No such thing as a good reason for a shitbox

and yea its not the dedication, more the fact that she is scared to even touch the center console thinking she will throw me out of gear. (same problem different excuses though i guess)

The standard gear box never gave me any issues in that regard. Sounds like your GF just isn't dedicated enough

To OP. Why does it matter..?
I've gotten complements all the time about my doors sounding and feeling "solid" and that the closing is a nice satisfying *wathunk*. I have to "slam" most things, but the only things I can possibly see you concerned about are the doors; to that I say whatevs
