lol, maybe i take it too seriously but it does really fucking bug me when people assume they need to slam it closed.

While both E30s were out of commission, I drove my roommate's Jetta to work and when I got back into my car, I stalled and noticed the extra effort the clutch and steering take. I missed it.

Oh, and one E30 has a nice, solid thunk and the other has all sorts of rattles when I close the doors. Both trunk lids are nice and thunky though :D

logistically i dont understand how people "punch" the girl in the head during roadhead to shift. Clearly they've never gotten said roadhead, her back becomes an armrest for your right hand and the shifting can be done with the fingertips.

    stay classy r3v

Agreed. I hate over-boosted steering. And because of BMW's, I view most cars as being over-boosted.

The effort level is noticeably higher than, say, a Honda of the same vintage. It's German. It's tough to discern whether or not you're experiencing an abnormal amount of effort via the internet. But i'm going to guess, since you say it's *everything*, that the car is fine and you're just not used to owning a German automobile.

People I know who have their roots in Japanese cars consistently miss closing my doors on the first try. People who drive American cars slam everything.

It's all in what you're used to. I daily drive an E46, which has typical heavy BMW steering. After a long weekend getaway driving with a friend of mine in her 2014 Civic, I got back in my E46 to drive home. When I pulled away, I actually got out of my car and popped the hood to make sure my serpentine belt hadn't snapped or something. The steering in my car felt so heavy after driving the Honda for 4 days, I questioned if the power steering was even working.
