What would you pay for a nonrunning 1990 325ic?

Snapped timing belt, busted engine...something that broke the engine. The owner wasn't sure.

Aside from the engine the car was in good shape.

    What's a fair offer?

    Auto or 5spd?

    Diving boards or plastic bumpers?

    Paint/interior/top color?

Hypothetically if it had every condition I was looking for and only needed the engine replaced and maybe a little TLC, I'd offer $1K at most. Give us more info though.

it seems like there are always pretty good condition 318is on ebay with blown engines and they normally go for around 700 to 1000 dollars. So I would guess a 325ic being worth about 1000. The fact that its a 325 and not a 318 shouldn't matter since it doesn't have an engine

Cabrios aren't my bag, but it sounds like a desirable model. M20s can be found for very cheap, and if you're capable of replacing the blown engine yourself then buying that car for ~$1K would definitely be worth it.

Yeah, I've been gathering parts for an M50 swap and this looks like a better car than the platform I'm working with now.

I'd start my offer at $1000 and work your way from there.

It all depends on what the person knows about the car and if they have other ppl interested.

                    I paid $650 for a similar car (1991 325i, snapped t-belt).

I know I could sell a 325ic fro more than $4500, in decent shape. I know I can buy an M20 for under $600, so I would be willing to go as high as $2500, assuming that the car is pretty nice.

                        750-1000 would be my tops.

If its clean and rust free, it could be a good swap candidate or if you have the time a fix it and flip it.

                          It has no roof.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

Sounds like a great candidate for a swap. If you've already got the engine and stuff... and it really is perfectly clean, I'd go as high as 2k. But yea, start low, $750. See what bites.
