Are there any R3v members that live near you? I know if someone near me needed help with something I'd done before I'd be willing to lend a hand and some tools if they brought food and tasty beverages.

Just offer some beer and pizza, be nice, and someone close to you will come to help you out.

                    1) play by the rules and have a reputable shop do the work, pay more for a 'complaint box' option if the labor/parts fail

                    2) hire a wrench/r3v'r local to you to do it with whatever the hell parts you please - here's a quarter if anything goes wrong but save a chunk of cash

                    3) sack up and do it yourself like everyone else

No shop wants you coming back in a few months when your cheapy URO guibo decides to grow hair.

Would you take your own steak into a steakhouse? I don't see why people expect others to work for free. You bought the car and now have two options. Learn to do it yourself (which is a lot of fun) or Pay a shop what there time /experience/tools are worth. Believe it or not the guy at the shop does not go to work to lose money. Why should you get paid for your job and then expect to not have to pay someone else for theirs?
