    unofficially 400k

well, by all estimations i think i have officially hit the 400,000 mile mark on my eta. bought her 5 years ago last week and a week later the odo stopped at 246k. i do 25k a year back and forth to work, that takes it to 371k. i know i drive at least 6k a year, probably a lot more, in recreational driving. original engine and head bolts (wow), even the original prone to fail cam gear, 2nd trans. she is developing a couple rust spots (drivers side front fender by the door and roof on 1 side by the sun roof. i still drive her 100 daily to work and back and still purs like a kitten. uses a qt every 3k. man i love this car.

Looks like it's in great shape for 400k. Why not replace the odo gears? That was one of the first things I did when I got my car.

Just goes to show that basic repairs can keep these motors going forever

Keep it going! Just drive it and see how far it can go. Update this thread when you think you hit signifigant milestones.

This makes me happy and I wish I had my first eta! It had 230,000 when I first bought it 14 years ago. haha

maybe you should replace the gears and see how much you drive after you replace them

if i had plans to sell her, i would. but seeing as i'm almost 60 and i'm gona keep her, i'll keep my repairing to the mechanical shit thats important. if i ever pull the cluster, it will be a r and r or i'll have to redo the entire thing. all the solder points need to be re flowed. spending 14 hours a day out of the house for work and working 6 days a week, there's other more important repairs to keep up with than the odo.

That muthasucka looks nice for a 400K car. And eta's are known for their extended life.

Nice ... I'm running a '85 eta & will, like you, drive it till it won't pull out of the driveway. Clock says 160 now but my odo is broke too.

Congrats on the "investment" you made. It's paying dividends!
