Going to Germany in about a month!

I was wondering if there was any way to know where these fabled Junk Yards are, and if it was ANY way possible to bring back or have sent back a full Mtech 1 kit? ALso any ideas besides the usual AC Scnitzer museum, and BMW stuff? Where can I get directions to The 'Ring? Id love to meet you German dudes and perhaps go to some bars and/or social activities? I cant wait. Go ARGENTINA 2006!!

Two things I really want to hit up are the Rock am Ring and the Brasil vs Croatia game (unfortunetly I cant stay longer to see Brazil take the 6th world cup title ;) )

aye when are you coming? maybe we can hit the Ring, go to a game. were hopefully gonna get some tickets on base. I really wanna see a game. a few of the games will be hosted at our stadium downtown Kaiserslautern. its gonna be nuts.

I'm going in about 5 weeks as well, can't wait. We've signed up for this, and we plan to visit the Ring, and every major German auto plant (minus MB, fuck em). If we have enough time, we're cruising down to Italy and checking out Lambo and Ferrari.

I'm down man.... I'm planning out my trip so it would be nice to organize this. Aside Germany... one place I'm planning on hitting up will be Amsterdam... My trip will start around western Germany and towards the time when the world cup starts I'll probably be in Berlin (Brasil vs Croatia and a Billy Talent concert the day before)

Anyone else wants to start setting up dates/events to meet up? One thing I'd really like to grab while I'm there is a sick set of wheels and ship it over.

How are you guys going to spend the nights over there? I'm going for youth hostels.

Edit: Any local guys know of BMW meets during May/June? I mean... it's summer so people should be bringing their cars out for show :)

there are no" super E30 junkyards" in germany. The E30 is so old now, that most german junkyards dont even keep them there for more than a day- no germans buy the parts from them. On the U.S. Army bases, they have junkyards, and you will find a few E30s in them- but you wont be able to get into a base, unless you are with a soldier, and most good stuff will be gone, cause there are plenty of soldiers that sell the stuff on ebay. I really wouldnt plan on finding any goldmine when you come over. there is a lot of good stuff, but you have to wait for it to just come about.

now to the germany thing.
I live 2 hours north of the BMW museum, feel free to stop by my house, anyone who is coming over!!! send me a PM. I would love to meet up with some of you, maybe a meet at the BMW museum.


and Mariano, I will be parting out my red M tech I here in a few weeks, we can work out a great price on the M tech stuff- but you need to find a way to ship it. It is all to big to fit through reg. mail, and shipping it through a shipping company will be alot.

as far as shows coming up.
there are 3 that i try to get to that are BMW specific every year. all are close to my house, a few hours from Munich
they are
13 May-- 6th int. BMW team tauber -in gollhofen---- a really nice show with quite a few E30 M3s

27May-- lowridermasters-- in herne by the france boarder-- not e30, but i am a lowrider guy too

10/11 June 2int. BMW Club Bamberg-- In my home town-- was a really big nice show last year- but a ton of ricer crap-- what me and Dave (euro3) like to call the -just for your info, this is what you dont want to do to your car/ this is what ebay crap looks like installed!-- but still alot od VERY nice cars also.

1 July 8th. int. BMW club oberfranken-- in Bayreuth/ himmelkron- a very nice very well known show about 45 min from my house.

Mtech one greatness!!! Ill etl youknow because as of right now there are no concrete plans. It all depends really on what I want to do and where all of this is located in germany. Im going to be coming from Barcelona Spain. So now I have to find a way to ship it. I wonder what my options are? Im going to have to research that. Thanks man. I'll be in Munich June 2nd-5th, but will be there with family, so unfortunately there won't be too much BMW stuff in our plans. But I already told them we are at least doing the Mobile Tradition museum or I'll throw a little girl hissy fit. To my understanding the normal factory tour and museum are closed until 2007, but the museum might be relocated temporarily. Someone verify? mikeedler?

We also will probably go to the Hoffbrau Haus at some point.

I was actually considering the Monaco GP, but my funds would barely allow it, if that. I'm already planning a travel out of Germany that will cost me some: Amsterdam.

Seems like the whole BBQ thing will be set on for June. In the beginning of June I'll be all over Nurburg (Rock am Ring).... so I'm down for anything after that.

I too have heard the real museum is closed, but heard a rumor that there is a "spare " one set up. i will have my wife call- cause my german sux on the phone- and find out tomorrow.
I am in a town called bamberg- about 40 min, directly North of Nuernberg---(not the ring one) If you look on a map, it is pretty southern- but middle bavaria.
I think 10/11 june would be a great time if you guys could work it out. that BMW car show is about 10 min from my house that weekend.
but whatever works for you all, i am flexible.
that weekend, I can promise I will actually have my M3 out too-- can you say euro dogleg???
