Hey guys, I need some advice. I'm picking up my e30 from the body shop where it sat for a year and is almost ready. The car has full turbo S52 swap. I plan on changing oil, coolant, fuel filter, diff and tranny fluids once I get it home. Is it safe driving it the way it is for about 50 miles to get it home? I know the battery is dead and won't hold charge so will get a new one.

crank it without spark for a few revs to get oil up the passages then fire her up. should be fine since it has synthetic oil in it.sigpic

Might want to drain the old gas out and put fresh in. If the tank is low, adding a few gallons of fresh would likely be enough.Comment

Should I pull the fuel pump fuse as well?
The tank is at around 3/4 IIRCComment

Just get the oil circulating before firing it up... It's not a glass engine that'll kill itself at the first chance.
Wait, S52.... Might as well just replace the whole thing.
(Seriously though... Just get the oil circulating.)Comment

No need to pull the fuel pump fuse unless it gives you piece of mind.sigpic

If you didn't put stabilizer in the tank, chances are it has separated and you have bad fuel in the tank now.
Since E30's have a fuel tank drain, and you have a turbo motor, I'd drain the gas and fill with fresh.Below the radar...Comment
