Key won't turn after getting hit

I was parked on my street and I came out this morning to find my car had been hit. I left it in gear with the parking break on because I was parked on a hill. I tried to start it to move it into my driveway but the key won't turn in the ignition. Any help?Click image for larger version

sorry to hear about your ix. That really sucks. Do you have comprehensive insurance? File a claim. They will probably try to total it.

Usually if there is any pressure on the steering wheel, it will push against the steering / key lock. Your car was turned a little bit from the wreck, turning the front tires, putting pressure on the lock.

Heres a good story about being an idiot that should make you feel better.
A couple years ago I went out and got complely shit canned. I know, I know, no big surprise. Well the next day , hung over I go to start my car. Its hot outside, so I go to roll the power windows down and nothing happens. No power at all. I freak out, I have an e36 switch retrofit, so I am thinking its that, but then again both go bad at the same time? No way. Long story short, after checking the fuses, removing a door panel, screaming jumping up and down I figured out what the culprit was. Me and my stupidity.
                Yours truly,
                Rich

Anybody think a body shop could get this out? Or would a smarter choice just having it totaled?

Looks like the door and trunk are fine. That's certainly something a good shop can easily handle.
