This weekend i drove from San Luis Obispo back home in LA, with a stop in SB to visit Ryan G. I filled up yesterday and found out i got 27MPG. That was on mostly freeway driving but i'm pretty happy with that number. Thats the best i've ever done. What numbers do you guys get. I know you 318 and eta guys get in the 30's so poo on you.

That's good to know with me anticipating a road trip back from MO, and the EPA website givin an 89 325iS only 22 Highyway MPGMy mountains are better than yours. -
With entire highway driving and no stopping until I needed gas again, I got ~40 once. Seems to have been a one time thing though.
So there.

Ditto. I usually get mid to high 30s on the highway and about 30 around town.Originally posted by Bill 84 318iWith entire highway driving and no stopping until I needed gas again, I got ~40 once. Seems to have been a one time thing though.

A lot of mpg depends on the fluids in your car. Put in some 5w30 full syn, Redline MTL, Redline Diff Oil and you'll probably see ~5mpg increase.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

I'm not a huge fan of synthetic motor oil, but I am running Redline in my tranny. I'll get to putting it in the diff eventually.
Around town I get more like 20ish.

mostly stock '87 325is:
-Stromung exhaust, and probably a hollowed out cat too (not sure about that)
-K&N cone filter
-screwy ECU that's probably making me run lean
... 31mpg @70-75. That's the sweet spot. Anything above or even below that relative speed makes my mpg drop severely. OBC matches manual calculations almost perfectly.
Gas mileage driving around town is dismal though - like 15mpg at best while making short trips, never even getting into 4th gear often.Comment
