I don't keep track of it or anything, but it's not like the little math equation is that difficult to do on your way back from paying the ugly lady behind the counter.

I just like to know how wasteful my car is being.Originally posted by Bill 84 318iI don't keep track of it or anything, but it's not like the little math equation is that difficult to do on your way back from paying the ugly lady behind the counter.Comment

depends on your car. some e30s have smaller tanks than others. I think mine is 16.5 gallons.Comment

yeah you probably have the smaller tank. I think it's around 14 gallons. I usually put 15 in when I fill up. :)Comment

I looked at my obc when i first got the car and it said 11, and i was goin crazy, then i realized it was in liters, and also in kilometers. Is that how all obc's are, because its really annoying. this is my first e30 with an obc, so i dont know much about it. also i need to change the light in it, is there a write up on that by anychance. I plan on changin it when i put my new headunit in. thanks90 325is

To change the light this should help, it's real easy but the backlight costs like $30 or something crazy. http://www.r3vlimited.com/Tech/OBC.htm
To change the readings from Metric to Standard, push the MPG button and then push the small pin hole on the bottom right of the OBC. hope that helps.Comment

I get probably 28 in my eta. My OBC is a little messed up. It tells me im getting 25.5, which it probably does sometimes. My fuel gage also likes to jump around a lot. If I take a turn a certain way or park on an incline i will either gain or lose a 1/8 tank. Any ideas on that one? It usually is close enough for me to know and i tend to fill up around 300 miles.Old and improved:

On 3 hour trips my mpg starts at 28-32 but after I hit a couple of lights and accelerate back to cruising speed it stays at 26-27 the rest of the trip. Any ideas?Comment
