someone almost stole my car

So someone tried to steal my car last night and somehow broke the bolts that hold the shifter assembly to the car trying to get the car in reverse

Now half the time I turn the key in the ignition nothing happens(no lights nothing)

Just had to walk to the hardware store to get 2 new bolts and now I'm good
I guess I'm lucky

No I think the reason nothing happens when I turn the key has to do with the likely hood they used a flat head screwdriver for a key

Being unable to put a car into reverse without the ignition turned on isn't a function of a manual car. Neither is not being able to start the car when you have problems engaging the neutral-safety switch.

Sounds like you need to freshen up your locks as insurance against failure and start double locking your shit at night. He'll wonder why he can't slim jim your door open any more :D

Yea Im that stupid guy that doesn't have keys to my doors just ignition so I never leave a thing in my car..... that's gonna change
