i am wanting to know what this part is called and if there is a part number for it. I have never seen this part anywhere other than this pic.

The blue bit? That's the hazard triangle.

I think he means the piece under the triangle. It appears to be a storage thing for over the jack rather than over the battery. I've never seen it before, are you sure that's a picture of an E30?

If I recall correctly it's the trunk of the alpina m3 but I could be wrong.

That divider between storage tray and boot space? Never seen it before but I now want one.

It could be made from 3/4" mdf and covered with trunk carpet.

M3's have them but not regular e30's unless it was some special option but I've never seen it. also it's black plastic not covered like pic, so was probably custom made.

That trunk appears to have an extended range tank in it behind the fabric. OP where did the picture come from?

Trunk Organizer, but I have the standard plastic one for the right side.

Looks like it could be a South Africa car or European car...I have that option (don't know the name sorry!) in my UK E30, BUT it's on the right hand side above the battery.

The long range fuel tank is pretty rare but a lot of SA E30's had it.

that's a part for an e30 m3 only. it wont fit your stock e30 without modification.
                    Much wow

That's not an M3 specific part. M3 has a threaded hold down for that side. After looking at the link it appears it may have been for the Hartge car in the photobucket account that the OP saw at a show?

Stand corrected if I look close enough I can see the small cut out where the hold down goes. Maybe someone had it custom flocked?
