I got my E30 almost 2 years ago. '86 Eta, 227K KM on the clock. It's been pretty rock solid. Starter started going wonky about 2 months in, got in replaced (as far as I know it was original). The only thing that really gave me a problem was the voltage regulator crapping out earlier this year. But a friend came to give the car a jump and followed me most of the way home until I knew I had enough juice to make it the rest of the way. 15 minute fix.

I've done a lot of maintenance, but I drive a shit-ton. The odo is almost at 341K km now. I've done the front bearings, timing belt, water pump, distributor and rotor, full rear bushing refresh (subframe, trailing arms, drop links and shock mounts). Had one rear brake caliper seize, got the pair replaced.

I lucked out because this was a base 325, so very little power gadgets, which is perfect for me. Probably the best car I've owned.
