using rainx helps a ton!. No scrapping your windsheilds, ice buildup just slides off. Trick is to keep your windsheild clean. Only thing it wont help with is salt and dirt spray from the car in front of you.

I hardly use my wipers, in HEAVY rain at highway speeds water just beads off. Havent really found a difference in visibility using wipers vs not. During street driving wipers help even with rainx

snow hits the windshield, melts and turns to water and beads off...thats not so much the problem.

Its that fine dirty mist and droplets that get kicked up by other cars that are too small to bead off and dry on the windshield, totally obscuring your view....thats when you have to use your sprayers and wipers...

love RainX btw, i reapply once a year and use RainX washer fluid.

I hate rental cars because they dont have RainX and i have to use wipers all the time.
